These are the questions service businesses ask before signing up. Not asked? Email us — we'll add it.

Is Klientele right for us?
Is Klientele only for development agencies?
+
No. Klientele was built inside a dev agency, but it's industry-agnostic by design. Templates ship for legal, healthcare, marketing/creative agencies, consulting, SaaS support, and vet clinics — and we configure any other service vertical we haven't named yet. The same product runs all of them.
What kind of business is Klientele NOT for?
+
Pure product companies with no post-sales obligation. Pure e-commerce with no client relationships. Pure transactional businesses without recurring service work. If you don't have clients you need to serve over time, Klientele is over-built for you.
How small is too small?
+
Solo operators use Klientele on the Solo plan starting from day one — Codefree itself ran on a single workspace for the first nine months. The minimum viable footprint is one person, a handful of clients, and the desire to stop duct-taping four tools together.
How large does it scale?
+
The Agency tier covers 20 seats and unlimited clients out of the box. Beyond that, we run bespoke contracts with custom integrations, dedicated success contacts, and white-label options. We have customers running 100+ retainers on a single workspace.

Setting up for your industry
Does Klientele use my industry's language?
+
Yes. A law firm sees matters, not requests. A clinic sees patients, not clients. An architecture studio sees studio weeks. Terminology, status workflows, SLA defaults, dashboard widgets and compliance settings all arrive configured for your trade — you are not renaming things yourself.
What if my industry is not one you list?
+
Tell us what you do and we configure it. We have set up vet clinics, private equity portfolio companies, wedding planners, immigration consultants and accounting firms. If you can describe your business, Klientele can be shaped to it.
Am I locked into how it arrives configured?
+
No. Every layer — terminology, statuses, SLAs, custom fields, branding — is editable from day one, and you can restore the defaults whenever you want. Changing the configuration never touches your data.
Can I see it set up for my industry before signing up?
+
Yes. The industries page has a live demo — enter your industry, verify your email, and see the configured workspace. Free, no credit card.
getting-started
Getting started
How long does setup take?
+
Most teams are operational in 15–30 minutes. Pick a template, invite your team, import clients (CSV or manual), connect your inbound email address. That's a productive first session.
Can we migrate from our current tool?
+
Yes. CSV import is built in for requests, ideas, clients, and time entries. We've helped teams move from Jira, Linear, Zendesk, FreshDesk, ClickUp, Notion, Airtable, and a long list of spreadsheets. For larger migrations, our team can help — ask sales.
Do you offer onboarding help?
+
Team plan customers get a 30-minute onboarding session with our team. Agency plan customers get a dedicated success contact for the first 60 days. Solo plan customers get the same documentation and an active community.
What does the trial actually unlock?
+
Everything Agency tier offers, capped at trial limits (1 seat, 10 clients, 50 external requests / month). The point is to evaluate the platform end-to-end before you commit, so we don't hide features behind the trial. 14 days, no card.
security
Security & compliance
Where is our data stored?
+
Klientele runs in India on Kubernetes infrastructure managed by Codefree. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Database backups are retained for 30 days. We can discuss regional residency options for bespoke contracts.
Is Klientele SOC 2 compliant?
+
Audit-ready, not yet audited. The Agency tier includes integrity-hashed audit log with tamper detection, per-template retention policies (up to 7 years), role-based access control, and all the technical controls a SOC 2 audit would require. Formal certification is on the 2027 roadmap.
Who can see our workspace data?
+
Only your invited team and clients (according to role). Codefree staff have minimum necessary access for support — every staff access is logged, with consent for sensitive actions. We don't train AI models on your data.
Can we export everything if we leave?
+
Yes, at any time. CSV exports for every entity (requests, time entries, invoices, retainers, clients, activity logs). PDFs for invoices. After cancellation, your workspace stays in read-only export mode for 30 days, then is purged.
integrations
Integrations
What integrations are built in?
+
Email-to-request (Postmark inbound). Web Push for notifications. Embeddable widget for your customer-facing intake. Public REST API. CSV import/export. Custom integrations (Slack, Zapier, EHR, CRM, etc.) ship on bespoke contracts.
Do you have a Slack integration?
+
Native Slack integration is on the public roadmap for Q3 2026. Today, teams use the public API + Slack's incoming webhooks for request notifications — a small integration script we'll share on request.
Can we hit the API from our own systems?
+
Yes, on Team and above. Public API with X-API-Key authentication, scoped permissions, rate-limited at 120 req/min. Server keys for backend integrations, public keys for the widget. API docs.
pricing-and-billing
Pricing & billing
Why pricing in INR?
+
We're an India-first business, so INR is the cleanest, most reliable rail for our customers — card, UPI, netbanking, and wallets all work. International customers can pay in INR with an international card. Multi-currency support is on the 2026 roadmap.
Can we negotiate a custom plan?
+
Yes, on Agency tier or larger. Get in touch via sales. We work with larger service businesses on extended contracts with custom integrations, white-label, and dedicated support.
What if we exceed our seat or client limit?
+
Seats and clients are hard limits per tier — you'll see a clear upgrade prompt before you hit either. External request cap is soft (we keep accepting requests and bill an overage at the end of the cycle).
